Bedlam Ensues at Library Board Meeting These are the dulcet tones [smirk] of the opposition to the Community Library Network (CLN) board trustees who are complying with the 2024 Children's School & Library Protection Act Idaho Statute 18-1517B. Despite the audience's shrieks, the trustees have created policy that will NOT ban any books. Instead, books determined by CLN to meet Idaho's legal definition(s) of "sexually-explicit" in books for minors are simply being reclassified as "Adult" and reshelved in the Adult section because they include ADULT content. Parents who want their kids to have any book - including those - can still check them out for their children. Simple ... but apparently enraging to some.
